TEST REQUIREMENTS

The IELTS is seen as a very important exam necessary to study in the UK. But did you know that there are alternate ways to study in the UK without the need to write the IELTS exam.

    • Education in an English Medium School: If you studied in an English medium school, then certain universities accept a Medium of Instruction(MOI) certificate from the school as proof of your English proficiency.
    • Class 12th English Scores: Many universities will consider your 12th grade English language exam scores as proof.
    • Online Interview: Some universities may ask you to take part in interviews online conducted through platforms such as Skype or Microsoft Teams to check your English language capabilities.
    • Other Exams: Instead of IELTS or TOEFL or ​​PTE, certain universities may ask you to take a qualifying exam of their own.

While applying to study in the UK without IELTS, you will usually be asked to provide the following documents:

Keep in mind that proficiency in English is a must to obtain a Tier 4 UK student visa. For Diploma programs an overall band score of 5.0 is needed while for Bachelor’s Degree an overall band score of 6.0 is required and for a Masters Programs an overall band score of 6.0 – 6.5 is needed. If your university doesn’t require an IELTS score, make sure to ask them to provide documents confirming your eligibility for the visa.

WORK RIGHTS & STAY BACK

  • Students completing studies in the UK get a 2 year post -study work Visa (PSW) Graduate Immigration route (GIR) . Through this post study visa arrangement Indian students get access to the UK labour market.
